The Exeter Eye secretarial team visited the accounts team at Medico Management in Salisbury on 11th September 2023.
Niki Harrison, Practice Manager, Jo Briggs, Secretary to Mr Quinn, Hilary Hadden and Liz Castle, secretaries to Mr Peter Simcock all travelled to Salisbury to meet the Medico Management team and find out more about their systems and working practices.
Medico Management manages Exeter Eye’s accounts using one of the leading accounting software packages in the UK, as well as supporting other medical consultants and their private practices.
Debbie Vallis, Client Account Manager gave a demonstration on their process for raising invoices, ensuring all outstanding invoices are monitored and producing monthly reports and end of year accounts.
The Exeter Eye secretarial team were also shown their state of the art telephone system. This system uses an Exeter dialling code for incoming and outgoing calls which is reassuring to our patients when they make enquiries and payments.
The team were well looked after by Josh Thomas, Director of Medico Management and Debbie Vallis, Client Accounts Manager and enjoyed lunch at a beautiful location by the canal on the outskirts of the city.
Everyone agreed it was a really useful visit and enables staff to be up to date with the best working practices in supporting our ophthalmic consultants and ensure our patients get the best care and service.
There are plans in place to take the rest of the Exeter Eye team to visit in early November.
